I was raised in Lexington, "The Horse Capital of the World", before attending college in Kentucky's central time zone at Murray State University. Upon graduation I began working across the country from New York to California to Florida, traveling up and down the Mississippi River, the Caribbean & across Asia, with stops in Turkeyville and Chocolate Town. About a decade ago I returned to the director's chair, often wearing my choreographer's cap. No matter where I land, I love to entertain (both onstage and off) & I love to tell stories.
I like to think of the rehearsal room as a sandbox on a large playground, where actors can laugh, cry, totter, discover and grow. I believe in the American regional theatre scene and know that its work can forever change our country from the inside out. It’s vital that we bring in audiences that mirror our communities because theatre can take us to places that we haven’t seen or are too blissfully unaware to believe. Sitting next to complete strangers in a darkened space, we can learn to love and to heal and to question, telling the stories of our ancestors, of our neighbors, and of our children yet to come.
I hope to share the stories of all our great adventurers, one sandbox at a time.
